Ashumet Pond
Boats on Ashumet Pond

Our home is situated on an acre of natural Cape Cod land. Walk our 450 foot meandering path to the shore of Ashumet Pond. Although Massachusetts calls every freshwater body of water a pond, most would think this a lake as it is 204 acres, almost a mile across and 76 feet deep on the deep side. Luckily for us, our shoreline is a very gradually sloping sandy beach, so clear you have a perfect view of the life below. The setting is tranquil, like being "On Golden Pond." We call it, "the land time forgot."

We swim in the pond from May into October and boat there until almost November. Bring your boat. There is a boat launch a short distance away and enjoy kayaking, sailing or a small motor boat.

The Upper Cape

Mashpee is only a fifteen minute drive from the Bourne Bridge, conveniently located between the towns of Sandwich and Falmouth. This area is called the Upper Cape, with easy access to the entire Cape including Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. The Upper Cape offers many fantastic and world-class attractions from beaches, nature trails, and parks to a wide variety of resturants and specialty stores. Local activities include swimming, golfing, biking, sailing, kayaking, hiking, and horseback riding. For the performing arts and sciences, the Cape boasts plenty of theatres, museums, galleries, top-rated aquariums and live musical concerts. For those who wish to experience the Cape's incredible marine surroundings, go whale watching on an exciting adventure cruise or get in your SCUBA gear see the ocean world from below! There is something here for everyone!
